M. Lee Sanders, MD, Ph.D.

University of Tennessee (2007)

Lee received his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry in 1997 from Union University located in Jackson, TN. He then attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee and obtained his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences with an emphasis in medicinal chemistry in 2003. Lee entered medical school in 2003 at the University of Tennessee and graduated in 2007 followed by the completion of internal medicine residency at the University of Iowa in 2010.  Following his chief resident year, he plans to begin nephrology fellowship training at Vanderbilt University.

Lee is married and has one son and one daughter. In his free time he enjoys being with his family, American history, traveling, sports and just about anything Southern.
