A native Texan, Suzette’s tour of the country started in 1999 when she travelled to upstate New York to complete her Bachelor’s degree in the Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University. After college, she worked in diabetes research and health education in Santa Barbara, California. In 2004, she continued her journey up the West Coast to Portland, Oregon. While there, she earned an MD degree at Oregon Health and Sciences University and met her husband, Rick, a native Oregonian.
After medical school, they came to Iowa City where Suzette completed her Internal Medicine Residency at The University of Iowa in 2011.
Following completion of the Chief Residency year, she will continue to work as a General Internist in the Iowa City area while her husband completes medical school at the Carver College of Medicine.
In her free time, Suzette can be found tending her herb garden, keeping in touch with family and friends, or playing with Oscar, the family dog.
